Your account. Your choices.
Inbox connects directly to Gmail through Google sign-in and stores a mail cache on your device. Personal guidance and app records may sync through your private iCloud database. When enabled, AI features share relevant mail content with the provider you configure.
The Mac app can keep checking while its window is closed. On iPhone, background refresh is scheduled by iOS, with catch-up when you open the app.
